After nearly two decades away, Jack Black returned to Saturday Night Live on April 5, 2025, reminding audiences exactly why he’s a comedy legend. Bursting onto the stage with unmatched energy, Black exclaimed, “Did you miss me, babies? ‘Cause I’ve been saving up 20 years of weird just for tonight!”
The episode was stacked with nostalgic humor and fresh fire. Musical guests Elton John and Brandi Carlile elevated the show into iconic territory. In one hilarious sketch, Black played a deranged game show host who screams, “You either win a toaster… or a tattoo of me eating a toaster!” The audience roared.
Later, he joined Carlile and Elton in a musical medley where he joked mid-song, “I’m the lovechild of Freddie Mercury and a Golden Retriever,” before shredding a mock guitar solo on a baguette.
Fans especially loved the spoof ad titled Cheetos-Preparation H, where Black deadpanned, “When life’s spicy, soothe your bottom too!”
The final skit saw him revisiting his classic “Tenacious D” style with a rock ballad about tax season, belting, “I fear no audit—only regret!”
SNL viewers praised the episode as one of the season’s best. One fan tweeted, “Jack Black just revived my soul”.
