A suicide bomber attacked a military convoy in North Waziristan’s Mir Ali area on June 28, killing 13 Pakistani soldiers. The attacker rammed an explosive-laden vehicle into the convoy, causing a massive explosion that shook nearby homes and injured dozens of civilians, including children.
Security forces secured the area and launched an immediate search operation. Officials confirmed that six children suffered injuries when roofs collapsed from the blast shockwave. The explosion damaged several houses and sent thick smoke into the air, terrifying residents.
The Hafiz Gul Bahadur faction of the Pakistani Taliban claimed responsibility. The military condemned the attack and vowed to eliminate all terror networks hiding in the region. “We will not rest until we bring every perpetrator to justice,” said a senior army spokesperson.
Eyewitnesses described the horror. One resident said, “We heard a blast so loud it felt like the earth split open.” Families in the area demanded stronger protection and swift retaliation.
In response, the army conducted a follow-up operation and killed multiple militants linked to the bombing. Authorities blamed safe havens across the border for fueling such violence.
Analysts warned that rising insurgency threatens regional stability. Pakistan’s leadership promised full-force action against terrorist hideouts. As the country mourns its martyrs, it stands united against fear.
